Once there was a village that had a lottery every year in the 27th June, it was warmth- and summer, people gather in the villages and children gather and piling stones. The people gather in the town squares. Mr Summers was the head of the lottery, he put a dot the night before the lottery the town also have a tradition with the "Black Box" the lottery box, which already broken and chipped. The head of each families must take the lottery, eventually this tradition have been going on a really long time, proven by a character named Old Man Warner who already join the lottery for more than 70 times. The Head of the families take the lottery and the Hutchinson family win the lottery, Bill Hutchinson draw for his families. Bill has 3 child and a wife, they all drew the lottery and Tessie Hutchinson won, the people fiercely throw rocks and they were upon herThe short story written by Shirley Jackson, has a lot of hints and clues, at first i thought the lottery means winning money or big prizes, we were looking for the winner and of course the prices but we couldn't find the prices until the end of the word where "the people were upon her". It was tragic and unexpected for us who's been expecting money and big prices, but the big prices were eventually stoned to death.
